By submitting content, you keep your copyright but grant True Motion Auto a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, feature, and lightly edit (for length or formatting) your submission with attribution. Submitters must be at least 13 years old (per COPPA), confirm the content is their own or they have rights to share it, and can request removal from future use at any time.

What you keep, and what you grant
Submitting a photo, comment, review, or story to True Motion Auto does not transfer copyright ownership — you keep it. What you grant is a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence for the site to display your submission, feature it in galleries or roundups, and make light edits for length, formatting, or basic profanity filtering. "Non-exclusive" means you're free to post the same content anywhere else too.
Age requirements
Submitters must be at least 13 years old. This follows the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which restricts collecting personal information from children under 13 without verified parental consent. Any submission that appears to come from someone under 13 is removed and the account is closed.
What you're confirming when you submit
- The content is either entirely your own work, or you have the rights to share it (e.g., permission from a co-owner of a photo)
- Any identifiable third party shown (a face, a legible plate) has consented to appearing in the submission
- The content doesn't infringe someone else's copyright, trademark, or privacy
- You have no undisclosed material connection (payment, free product) to any brand mentioned, or you've disclosed it clearly
What we can do with a submission
- Display it on the site with your username attributed
- Feature it in a themed gallery, roundup, or social repost with attribution
- Lightly edit for length, formatting, spelling, or to filter profanity
- Remove it at any time for a policy violation, per the Moderation and Escalation Policy
What we won't do without separate permission
Using a submission in paid advertising, licensing it to a third party outside True Motion Auto, or making substantive edits that change its meaning all require a separate explicit agreement beyond the standard submission licence.
Requesting removal
You can request that your content be pulled from future display at any time through account settings or by contacting the team. This stops new uses going forward; content already published in a past feature (like a newsletter that already went out) may not be retroactively recoverable, similar to the process described in the Photo Rights and Licence Workflow.
This page summarizes the submission terms in plain language for clarity; the full legal terms of service govern in the event of any conflict. This is not legal advice for either submitters or the site.
