Smart
Smart reinvented itself twice: born as Mercedes' radical two-seat city car, it relaunched as a Mercedes-Geely joint venture building design-led electric crossovers — the #1 and #3 — that share little with the Fortwo except the badge's urban wit. Mercedes styles them, Geely's platform underpins them, and the result is a credible premium-ish EV with punchy performance versions. The pivot cost the brand its original niche identity, and residuals remain unsettled. As city-friendly EVs with big-car equipment, they deserve more attention than they get.
