What the Wishlist actually does
The Wishlist is a lightweight save-for-later list, not a purchase reservation. It sits behind a single heart icon on every listing card, review page, and configurator screen across True Motion Auto. Saving a vehicle adds it to a personal list you can revisit from any device once you're signed in; without an account, it's stored locally in your browser and will disappear if you clear cookies or switch devices.
Guest mode vs. signed-in mode
Guests can save up to 10 vehicles for 30 days with no sign-up. This is meant for quick browsing sessions — comparing three trims of the same model, say. Creating a free account converts the Wishlist into a permanent list of up to 100 entries and unlocks alerts, since we need somewhere to send a notification.

Step by step: saving and managing vehicles
- Open any vehicle listing, review, or configurator page.
- Click the heart icon in the top-right of the vehicle card or header.
- A confirmation toast appears with a link to view your full Wishlist.
- Open the Wishlist from the account menu or the heart icon in the main nav.
- Use "Compare selected" to send 2-4 saved vehicles straight into the comparison tool.
- Toggle alert bells next to each entry to turn price-drop or availability notices on or off.
Alerts: what triggers them and how often
Alerts are event-driven, not scheduled digests — you won't get a daily email just because something is on your list. A notice fires when a listed price for that make/model/trim changes by more than roughly 2%, when a new expert or owner review is published for that model, or when a previously sold-out configuration becomes orderable again. Alerts go to your account email and, if enabled, a browser push notification.
The Wishlist doesn't reserve a car, lock in a price, or notify a dealership of your interest. It's a personal tracking tool only. For an actual purchase inquiry, use the "Request a quote" button on the listing itself.
Privacy and data
Guest Wishlists are stored client-side and are never linked to a personal identity. Account Wishlists are private by default; only a Wishlist you explicitly share via the generated link is visible to anyone else, and that link can be revoked at any time from the Wishlist settings page.
Common mistakes people make with the Wishlist
- Assuming a guest Wishlist survives a cleared cache — it doesn't; create an account if you want persistence.
- Expecting alerts without turning on the per-vehicle bell icon — saving alone doesn't enable notifications.
