The five rules, in detail
- Be accurate
Don't state specs, prices, safety records or recall information as fact unless you can back it up. Opinions and personal experience ("mine did this at 60k miles") are always welcome and don't need a citation — the rule targets presenting guesses or hearsay as established fact, particularly around safety.
- Be respectful
Disagree with an opinion or a car choice as much as you want — harassment, personal attacks, slurs, or targeted hate speech toward any person or group are not tolerated regardless of how the thread started.
- Disclose conflicts
If you work for a dealership, manufacturer, or have a financial relationship with a product you're recommending, say so. Undisclosed promotion — including a seller posting their own listing as if it were a neutral recommendation — is treated as a guideline violation, not just poor etiquette.
- Stay on-topic
Threads and forum categories exist to keep the community navigable — unrelated promotion, off-topic political debate, or repeated derailing of threads gets moved or removed so the space stays useful for its actual purpose.
- Follow the law
No fraudulent listings, no facilitating illegal vehicle sales (title washing, odometer fraud, etc.), and no soliciting or participating in scams through the platform.

- First violation: warning with an explanation of which rule applied.
