Use the Preference Centre to pick from 7 email programs individually — you don't have to accept an all-or-nothing subscription. Toggle each list on or off (Budget Digest, Community Story, EV Owners Update, Insurance & Finance Tips, Maintenance Reminders, Community Verdict, Monthly Wrap-Up), set send-frequency where offered, and unsubscribe from everything in one click at the bottom of the page. Changes take effect within 48 hours and are confirmed by an immediate on-screen message plus a confirmation email.

Why manage preferences instead of just unsubscribing
Most readers don't want everything or nothing — someone who owns an EV might want the EV Owners Update but not the Budget Car Buyer Digest. The Preference Centre lets you keep exactly the content relevant to you rather than forcing an all-or-nothing choice, which is why we built individual toggles instead of a single subscribe/unsubscribe switch.
What you can control here
| List | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Budget Car Buyer Digest | Weekly value/used-car and deals content |
| Community Story Email | Biweekly featured reader story |
| EV Owners Update | Biweekly EV incentive, charging, and ownership news |
| Insurance and Finance Tip Email | Biweekly practical insurance/finance guidance |
| Maintenance Reminder Email | Triggered reminders tied to your saved vehicle(s) |
| Community Verdict Newsletter | Monthly roundup of reader votes and top reviews |
| Monthly Wrap-Up Newsletter | Monthly recap across all site content |
How to update your preferences
- Click "Manage email preferences" in the footer of any True Motion Auto email — no login required, the link is uniquely tied to your subscriber record.
- Toggle any list on or off individually.
- Where frequency options are offered (currently the Monthly Wrap-Up only), choose monthly or quarterly.
- Click Save — you'll see an on-screen confirmation immediately, and a confirmation email follows within a few minutes.
Unsubscribing from everything
The "Unsubscribe from all emails" link at the bottom of the page stops every program in one action, including transactional-adjacent lists like Maintenance Reminders. Genuinely transactional messages required to service your account (like password resets) are not affected by this page, since those aren't marketing email.
Preference changes are applied to our sending systems within 48 hours. You may receive one email already queued for sending during that window even after updating your preferences — this is normal and not an error.
Your data and this page
We keep a record of your preference choices and the date they were made, which is standard practice for demonstrating consent compliance under regulations like CAN-SPAM and UK PECR. This history is not shared externally and is used only to honor your stated preferences and resolve any delivery disputes.
Common issues
- Still receiving an email after unsubscribing: check the date against the 48-hour processing window before assuming it's an error.
- Preference link not working: it's tied to your specific subscriber ID, so links copied from someone else's email won't work for your account — use the link from your own most recent email instead.
- Want to subscribe to a new list without an existing email to click from: use the sign-up form on any newsletter's dedicated page instead.
