Corrections Policy

How we fix mistakes, credit the people who spot them, and keep a visible record of changes.

Trust & Transparency Region: Global Updated July 2026 By the True Motion Auto editorial team
Quick answer

If we get a fact wrong — a spec, a price, a safety rating, a date — we correct it as soon as it's verified, usually within 48 hours of a confirmed report. Material corrections are marked with a visible correction note on the article; minor typo fixes are not logged separately. Anyone can report an error using the link at the bottom of any page.

Our commitment

Cars, prices and regulations change constantly, and even with careful fact-checking, mistakes get through. When they do, we'd rather fix them quickly and visibly than quietly edit the page and pretend it was always right.

How to report an error

  • Use the "Report an issue" link at the bottom of the article
  • Email our editorial team with the article URL and what looks wrong
  • Comment on the article if commenting is enabled for that section

Please include a source where possible — a manufacturer page, regulator notice, or dated screenshot speeds up verification.

What happens after a report

  1. An editor checks the claim against the original source and, where possible, a second independent source
  2. If confirmed, the article is updated and, for material errors, a dated correction note is added to the page
  3. If the report turns out to be a difference of interpretation rather than an error, we reply to the reader explaining our reasoning
  4. Recurring or systemic issues (e.g. a spec that changed across many articles) are logged so the same mistake isn't repeated elsewhere on the site

What counts as a material correction

Type of errorHow it's handled
Factual error affecting the article's conclusion (wrong price, spec, safety rating, date)Corrected and flagged with a visible correction note
Typo, grammar, or formatting fixCorrected silently, no note added
New information that updates but doesn't reverse the original point (e.g. a later trim added)Article updated with a new "last updated" date
Broken link or outdated URLFixed silently, no note added

Retractions

On the rare occasion an article's central claim turns out to be wrong rather than just an isolated fact, we retract or substantially rewrite the piece and explain what changed and why, rather than deleting it without explanation.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a correction take?
Confirmed factual errors are typically corrected within 48 hours of being verified.
Will I be credited for spotting an error?
We're happy to credit readers who flag a confirmed error if they'd like — just let us know when you report it.
Do you delete articles that were wrong?
Only in rare cases. Our default is to correct and flag the change transparently rather than remove the record.
Where can I see what's been corrected?
Material corrections appear as a dated note directly on the affected article.
