Audi built its modern empire on two ideas: quattro all-wheel drive and cabins that made rivals look cheap. As Volkswagen Group's premium pillar it fields one of the industry's widest ranges — A-badged saloons and estates, Q-badged SUVs from compact to full-size, and an expanding e-tron electric line now led by the 800-volt Q6 e-tron. Audis are precise, beautifully finished and effortlessly fast in S and RS forms, though critics find them less playful than BMWs. Reliability is generally solid with the usual German caveat: options and repairs are priced accordingly.
