Land Rover built the template for luxury off-roading and still owns its summit: the Range Rover remains the default choice where money meets mud, the reinvented Defender balanced heritage with genuine capability, and the Discovery and Evoque fill the ladder beneath. Off-road engineering (Terrain Response, wading depths, articulation) stays class-leading. The asterisk is chronic: reliability surveys and ownership horror stories trail the brand stubbornly, making warranties and dealer relationships part of the purchase decision. Desirability, though, has never been higher.
