Build Your Dream Garage is a virtual collection feature where members assemble a personal lineup of up to 6 vehicle slots, unlocked gradually through site activity rather than purchased outright. New slots and vehicle entries unlock through reading milestones, quiz participation, and community engagement — there is no real-money purchase option anywhere in the feature. Garages are shareable via a public profile link and can be reshuffled at any time with no cooldown.
At a glance
| Element | Detail |
|---|---|
| Starting slots | 2, available immediately on account creation |
| Maximum slots | 6, unlocked through activity |
| Vehicle entries available | Same library used in Guess the Car Quiz (~200 vehicles) |
| Real-money purchases | None — no paid slots or vehicles |
| Sharing | Public garage link from profile settings |
Why slots unlock through activity, not purchase
It would be easy to sell extra garage slots or exclusive vehicles for real money, but that cuts against the same non-monetary philosophy behind every other True Motion Auto recognition feature — badges, leaderboards, and awards are all earned, not bought. Build Your Dream Garage follows the same rule: every slot and every vehicle in the library is reachable through genuine site engagement, with no pay-to-unlock shortcut.
How slots unlock
| Slot | Unlock condition |
|---|---|
| Slot 1-2 | Available immediately on account creation |
| Slot 3 | Reach Wrench Hand tier in Garage Guru, or complete 5 quiz attempts |
| Slot 4 | Log one maintenance entry (any vehicle) or attend one Trivia Night |
| Slot 5 | Reach Shop Regular tier, or complete 20 total quiz attempts |
| Slot 6 | Reach Garage Guru tier, or maintain a 6-month maintenance streak |
The vehicle library
Vehicles available to place in your garage draw from the same roughly 200-vehicle photo library used in Guess the Car Quiz, spanning decades and body styles, so the game doubles as a bit of a browsing tool for cars you might not otherwise think to look up. There's no rarity or randomness involved — every unlocked slot can hold any vehicle in the library, picked directly rather than through a randomized "pull."
Why no randomized unlocks
We deliberately avoided a loot-box-style randomized unlock mechanic. Every vehicle is browsable and selectable directly once you have an open slot — nothing is gated behind chance, and nothing is gated behind payment. This keeps the feature squarely a fun, low-stakes customization tool rather than anything resembling gambling mechanics.
Sharing your garage
A public, shareable link to your current garage lineup is available from profile settings, useful for showing off a dream lineup in a forum signature or on social media. Reshuffling your garage (swapping which vehicles occupy your unlocked slots) has no cooldown or limit — you can rebuild your lineup as often as you like.
Losing a Garage Guru tier (through the account inactivity reset described in that badge system's own page) does not remove already-unlocked garage slots — slots, once unlocked, stay unlocked.
