Custom Dashboard for Saved Interests: Your My Garage Control Panel

Custom Dashboard for Saved Interests: Your My Garage Control Panel

How to arrange and use the widgets that track every car and search you care about.

Notifications Personalisation and CRM Region: Global Updated July 2026 By the True Motion Auto editorial team
Quick answer

The Custom Dashboard lives inside My Garage and shows up to 6 widgets — saved vehicles, saved searches, followed models, price alerts, review alerts, and recent comparisons — which you can reorder by drag-and-drop or hide individually. Saved data is kept for 24 months of inactivity before an automatic cleanup notice, and nothing on the dashboard is shared with dealers unless you explicitly submit a lead form.

What the dashboard is for

My Garage is the one place that aggregates everything you've saved, followed, or set an alert on, instead of scattering that information across separate pages. The Custom Dashboard is the configurable view on top of that data.

Customizing it

  • Drag any widget to reorder it; the layout is saved per account and syncs across devices.
  • Hide a widget entirely (e.g., if you never use comparisons) without deleting the underlying data.
  • Collapse a widget to a single summary line if you want a denser view.
  • A "Reset layout" option restores the default order without affecting your saved vehicles, searches, or follows.

Data retention

Saved vehicles, searches, and follows persist indefinitely while your account is active. After 24 months with no login, you'll get a retention notice by email; if there's no response within 30 days, dashboard data (not your account) is archived and can be restored on request for another 12 months before permanent deletion.

Privacy notes

Dashboard contents are private to your account by default. Nothing on it is passed to a dealer or third party unless you take a separate, explicit action — like submitting a lead form or requesting a quote — which is governed by the Dealer Lead Follow-Up Consent Flow, not by simply saving or following something.

Watch out

Hiding a widget is not the same as turning off its underlying alerts. To stop Price Drop emails, for example, you still need to disable that alert specifically — hiding the widget only changes what you see on the dashboard.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the order of my dashboard widgets?
Yes, drag and drop any widget to reorder; the layout syncs to your account across devices.
How long is my saved data kept?
Indefinitely while you're active; after 24 months of inactivity you'll get a retention notice, then a 30-day window before archiving.
Does hiding a widget delete my saved cars or searches?
No, hiding only affects the dashboard view — the underlying data and any related alerts stay active.
Is my dashboard visible to dealers?
No, it's private to your account unless you separately submit a lead or quote request.
Can I reset my dashboard to the default layout?
Yes, use "Reset layout" — it only changes widget order and visibility, not your saved data.
