What "flex-fuel" actually means
A flex-fuel vehicle (FFV) runs on any petrol-ethanol blend up to E85 (85% ethanol), sensing the mix and adjusting injection and timing on the fly. It's proven tech at national scale — Brazil's fleet has run predominantly flex for two decades — and it's the explicit next chapter of India's ethanol policy after E20: government signalling, draft standards and manufacturer prototypes (from mass-market two-wheelers to strong-hybrid flex sedans) all point the same direction.
