> 📅 This is a monthly series. This edition covers recalls current as of July 2026. Always confirm your own VIN against the official checker — this round-up is a summary, not a substitute.
How to use this round-up
Every month, dozens of recalls are issued across the US, UK and India. Most never reach you. This page collects the ones that matter — the large campaigns, the do-not-drive orders, the ones affecting popular models — into a single, scannable brief.
For each, we give you the campaign number, the severity level (🔴 do-not-drive · 🟠 park-outside · 🟡 standard), the affected models, and the one thing to do. Check any that apply to your vehicle.
🇺🇸 United States
🟠 Jeep Wrangler & Gladiator — power steering fire risk. NHTSA 26V363000 · 1,076,999 vehicles · 2021–2025 Wrangler (incl. 4xe) & Gladiator. Wiring for the electric hydraulic power steering pump can overheat and cause a fire, even parked. 51 fires, 1 injury. → Park outside, away from structures. Check VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
🔴 Ford Bronco Sport & Maverick — ball joint (DO NOT DRIVE). Ford 26S36 · 4,653 vehicles · 2021–2026 Bronco Sport, 2022–2026 Maverick. Front lower control arm ball joints may fail, causing loss of steering control. → Stop driving. Ford will arrange a free tow: 1-833-807-3673.
🟡 Honda Pilot, Ridgeline, Passport & Acura MDX — subframe corrosion. NHTSA 26V365 · 880,514 vehicles (salt-belt states only) · 2016–2022 Pilot, 2017–2023 Ridgeline, 2019–2023 Passport, 2014–2020 MDX. Rear subframe can corrode and fail. → Check VIN; watch for rear-suspension noise or handling changes.
🟡 Ford Expedition & Lincoln Navigator — seat belt pretensioner. 419,967 vehicles · 2022–2027. A pretensioner may fail to restrain occupants in a crash. → Check VIN for this AND other open Ford recalls.
🔴 Stellantis — blanket Takata do-not-drive. ~225,000 remaining unrepaired FCA vehicles (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, 2003–2016). → If unrepaired, stop driving. Free repair, incl. at home: 833-585-0144.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom
🔴 Citroën C3 & DS3 — Takata airbags (STOP-DRIVE). Codes MK7/NQ3/GM3 · ~120,000 vehicles · C3 (2009–2016), DS3 (2009–2019). Airbag can detonate and fire fragments into the cabin. → Stop driving. Free recovery + courtesy car (ask): 0800 917 9285.
🔴 Dacia Spring — steering rack (STOP-DRIVE). Built 28 July – 17 August 2024. Steering rack can rupture under load. → Stop driving. Check gov.uk/check-vehicle-recalls AND dacia.co.uk.
🟡 Dacia Duster — rear stub axle bolts. Built 28 March – 12 October 2024. Insufficiently tightened bolts reduce fatigue resistance. → Arrange repair promptly.
🟡 Dacia Bigster & Duster — rear springs. 6,025 vehicles worldwide, built Jan–Feb 2026. A rear spring may break. → Check VIN.
Reminder: always check both the DVSA checker (gov.uk/check-vehicle-recalls) and the manufacturer's own VIN checker — they don't always agree, and the manufacturer's is usually more current.

🟡 Historical campaigns still relevant to used buyers:
Mahindra XUV700 & XUV400 (announced Aug 2023) · 1,11,866 vehicles. XUV700 built Jun 2021–Jun 2023 (wiring loom abrasion); XUV400 built Feb–Jun 2023 (brake potentiometer). → If you bought used, call a Mahindra dealer with your VIN — the letter went to the first owner.
Maruti Suzuki airbag control unit (announced Jan 2023) · 17,362 vehicles built 8 Dec 2022 – 12 Jan 2023 · Alto K10, S-Presso, Eeco, Brezza, Baleno, Grand Vitara. Airbags may not deploy. → Check your build date; confirm with a Maruti workshop.
Skoda global Takata (69DU) · Applicability to India-market cars unconfirmed; tested Indian VINs returned clear. → Check recallactions.skoda-auto.com anyway — heat and humidity accelerate Takata risk.
How to check in India: siam.in (campaign-level), the manufacturer's VIN checker (VIN-level), and — definitively — a call to an authorised service centre asking whether the work was actually completed.
The universal rules (every month, every market)
- Check your own VIN. This round-up is a summary. Only the official checker, matched to your 17-character VIN, is definitive.
- Know the severity. 🔴 stop driving · 🟠 don't park near structures · 🟡 book it in soon.
- The repair is always free — regardless of warranty, mileage or ownership.
- Under do-not-drive/stop-drive orders, ask for free towing and a loan car.
- Bought used? The notice went to the previous owner. Confirm completion yourself with a dealer.
- Keep your address current with the DVLA/DMV/RTO so future notices reach you.
